Nantes Park, located in Athlone, is a 17-hectare park perfect for picnics, leisurely walks, walking your dogs and sports. The most popular feature of Nantes Park is the skateboard and BMX area. This venue is a hotspot for Capetonians of all ages to hone their talent, show off their skills, take part in competitions and connect with fellow skaters and BMXers.
The picturesque Vygekraal River adds to the overall character and charm of Nantes Park. Its other features include ample picnic spots, an open-air amphitheatre and an exhibition area. The City of Cape Town maintains the park with the support of the local community to create a safe, clean and beautiful environment for everyone to enjoy.
